Saddle Ridge Ranch 2010 VBSWednesday night's VBS reunion, set for tonight, will not take place. With lots of rain already today and dopplar radar showing a line of thunderstorms moving in, the decision was made to cancel the event. We're very sorry to disappoint with this news.

But all you cowpokes who attended Saddle Ridge Ranch earlier this month are invited to join us for TeamKid beginning next Wednesday night, September 8. All the things you enjoyed about VBS - songs, crafts, snackes and best of all Bible stories and instruction - will take place here at KHBC every Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.

Matthew's Messiah PDF Print E-mail

Gospel of MatthewLong before there was Handel's Messiah, there was Matthew's. A man transformed by Jesus wrote the first book of the New Testament about how he personally and the whole world was changed. Not as philosophical as John's Gospel, not as brief as Mark's, this book is well worth our attention. Encounter Christ with new eyes as we go through the book of Matthew on Sunday mornings from late summer through fall.

Saddle Up! PDF Print E-mail

Saddle Ridge Ranch 2010 VBS "Rounding up questions, driving home answers" is the theme of this year's VBS, focusing on God's wisdom found in the book of Proverbs. If you'd like to help young 'uns get wise (and perhaps learn a few things yourself), then ride with us!

We could use your help in setting up for VBS on Wednesday nights July 14th & 21st from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Just show up to help on those nights. If you're scheduled to be a VBS worker, there's a planning meeting on Wednesday, July 28th. Questions? Contact Children's Minister Susan Ritchheart.

When "I do" becomes "I don't" PDF Print E-mail

Divorce Recovery GroupIs your marriage on the rocks? Are you going through a divorce? You probably never imagined it would happen to you. There are few things as painful as the tearing apart of so intimate a relationship as a marriage. But you are not alone.

In the Bible we read that divorce is not God's will. But neither is it God's will that his children be forever stuck in the past, trapped by grief and loss. There is a way to receive healing from the pain, to objectively learn from your own mistakes, and to move forward into the future God has for you. Whether your marriage ended a long time back or you're newly divorced, this is for you.

"Fresh Start" is KHBC's newest Life Group, one that is specifically geared toward divorce recovery. Headed up by our worship minister and his wife - both of whom have personally experienced what you're going through - Fresh Start will meet on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. beginning September 8th. Questions? Call the church office at 816/238-1341 or send us an email.

No matter what you've been through, remember, Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captive free (Isaiah 61.1). That includes you!

Hey, God, Do Me a Favor? PDF Print E-mail

Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel - Creation of Adam (detail)"Would you do me a favor?" "Those two favor each other." So-and-so "found favor in God's sight." What do those phrases all have in common? Favor - but what is it, especially when we're talking about divine favor? The Scriptures speak of it - and this month, so does Pastor Keith. Join us as we look at Favor - What is It, Who Got It, and How to Get it.
